Exhibition On: Hong Kong Perspectives | 視角香港
This creative duo have forged a strong friendship bond and share a passion for urban and street photography. Inspired by the day-to-day energy of Hong Kong, Tricia and Michael relish any opportunity to explore and photograph the gritty, random beauty of the city.
Michael Kistler is an international artist specialising in fine art street photography. With previous shows in Tokyo, Hong Kong, New York & London, Michael aims to change how people look at cities by using unconventional perspectives to showcase the beauty in everyday situations. Believing that true beauty lies in imperfection, he seeks to capture the fleeting moments that come and go in a heartbeat. Michael also conducts street photography workshops regularly in Hong Kong and other cities.
Born in a small Australian town, Tricia Darling evolved into a global city girl after having lived a significant amount of her life in London, Dubai and Hong Kong. Inspired by the people, colour and energy of those cities, Tricia loves to shoot urban scenes where she looks for reflections, shadows, juxtapositions and layers. With every image, Tricia aims to tell a little story to mark that special moment in time.
As creative duo ‘Envy’, they showcase their Hong Kong as a bustling city of beautiful chaos that is dynamic and constantly evolving. A collection filled with pops of vibrant colour, contradictions and energetic twists. And with the iconic Hong Kong taxi as a hero - an enigmatic emblem, sometimes there when you need one yet often impossible to find.
