Nukeproofsuit is an award-winning architect and amateur photographer originally from Scotland. His background in architecture brought him to Hong Kong where he has been living and working for almost a decade.
Over the past few years, he has taken on photography, as a creative outlet and Instagram became the perfect platform for him to share the images he captures. Nukeproofsuit is fascinated by geometry and perpendicular views and because of this, an integral part of his process is finding the perfect location to take his photograph to ensure the lines are straight, even, and parallel with the edges of the frame. This is a challenging and lengthy process that compels him to explore parts of the city that he may never normally visit.
His collection for Bamboo Scenes is titled ‘Encountering Architecture’. By photographing large-scale facades without the surrounding context, he is able to evoke the dense and disorientating character of this small yet ever-evolving metropolis.
