Exhibition On: Hong Kong Perspectives | 視角香港
Dedicating her life to her passion, Sarie embraces photography as a medium to express herself with full creative freedom. Holding a strong sense of curiosity, this Dutch South-African artist loves how diverse photography can be. Experimenting with different cameras and exploring several techniques, she has created unique visuals by soaking damaged films in various liquids and applying multiple exposure to get surprising effects.
Always looking for an edgy, artistic story in her images, Sarie's photographs elevate emotions to tell a unique story. With a love for conceptual and out of the ordinary visuals, she goes beyond what is in front of her, and tries to capture inner feelings of the environment and persons in a particular moment, to create a World of Fantasy.
Sarie's ‘Still City Life’ for Bamboo Scenes, is a dazzling combination of film and digital images coming together as one coherent collection. While experiencing Hong Kong as an intense city filled with opportunities and continuous changes, Sarie's collection creates an opposite feeling by showing daily life in a different perspective; as a still life in the midst of all the change. All the images have a peaceful vibe around them with the goal to create room for reflection.
